A real example of community coordination, resident engagement and partnership delivery.
A day built around residents.
Under Pressure coordinated a welcoming five-hour event at Meridian Water, connecting residents with activities, food, sport and local services. The day created an enjoyable shared experience while opening conversations about future events and community provision.

Our role: Under Pressure Community CIC is developing community-based education and re-engagement programmes. We do not present ourselves as a school or registered alternative-provision provider; formal provision would be delivered through appropriate commissioning and qualified specialist partners.

Languages, culture & international learning

Under Pressure is developing an inclusive network of people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, language communities and lived experiences so our work better reflects the families and residents we serve.
Multilingual access
We want families to be able to identify language and accessibility needs when exploring future pathways. This includes developing access to BSL, Makaton, ESOL, qualified interpreting, translation and multilingual family support.
Community insight
We welcome prospective advisers, volunteers and professional contributors who understand different communities and can help us communicate respectfully, design culturally informed activities and reduce barriers to participation.
International educational exchange
We are exploring carefully developed UK–Türkiye and future UK–Ghana opportunities, including virtual school exchanges, conservation education, hospitality and skills learning, youth and cultural projects, and educational visits.
Safe development first
International visits or exchanges will proceed only when suitable local partners, safeguarding, animal-welfare standards where relevant, insurance, funding, accessibility and clear educational outcomes are in place.
Current stage: network and programme development. Individuals and organisations remain prospective unless they have completed appropriate checks and explicitly agreed to be named or work with us.

Under Pressure Community CIC is not yet accepting service-user referrals. We are first registering and checking suitable delivery, education, employment and support partners so that safe, credible pathways are ready before the referral system opens.
Future service users
Our future referral service is intended to welcome people of all ages, including children, young people, working-age adults and elderly people. Opening dates and eligibility information will be published after the partner network and safeguarding arrangements are ready.

Funding & Bid Writer
Research suitable funding and prepare accurate, evidence-led bids, proposals and supporting documents.

- Current first aid, two references and role-appropriate checks
Community Outreach, Advocacy & Partnerships Coordinator
Build trust, support non-legal advocacy and connect residents with appropriate services and partnerships.
Essential experience and duties
- Relevant outreach, family, youth, housing, health or community experience
- Support young and older people, SEND/disabled residents and families to express their wishes
- Help people prepare for education, health, housing and social-care meetings
- Current safeguarding and first aid, two references and legally appropriate Enhanced DBS
Lead Youth Worker & Programme Coordinator
Plan and safely deliver inclusive youth, mentoring, skills and progression activities.
Essential experience and duties
- Recognised Level 3 Youth Work or relevant equivalent qualification
- Experience supporting children and young people, including SEND
- Session planning, safeguarding, risk assessment and outcome records
- Paediatric first aid, two references and Enhanced DBS with barred-list check where required
Research & Development Officer
Research community needs, service gaps, policy and programme-development opportunities.
Essential experience and duties
- Research, policy, evaluation or service-development experience
- Strong ethical analysis, source checking and accessible writing
- Support needs analysis, service maps and programme design
- Current first aid, two references and role-appropriate checks
Bookkeeper & Finance Administrator
Maintain accurate records, reconciliations, grant tracking and transparent financial controls.
Essential experience and duties
- Bookkeeping or finance-administration experience
- AAT Level 2 or evidenced equivalent competence
- Reconciliations, audit trails and restricted-fund tracking
- Current first aid, two professional references and integrity declarations

We welcome experienced volunteers, students, retired professionals, businesses offering staff volunteering and people with relevant lived-experience insight. Every placement depends on need, supervision, insurance and safeguarding suitability.

Activities involving children, young people or adults at risk are planned with appropriate safeguarding, risk assessment and partner checks. Our full policy draft, dated 7 October 2026, is available to read while it awaits board approval and signature. The final approved version will replace it after adoption.
